If you live on the coast which most of us living in Western Australia do, you will be looking for low maintenance high corrosion resistant materials. Only 316 marine grade S/S is used for all external applications, and other passivating or Stainless steel electropolishing techniques may be used to further increase the resistant properties. When dealing with Internal Balustrading where the Stainless Steel is not subject to the elements and in no risk of corrosion, we use 304 furniture grade. Looking no different to 316 Stainless Steel the only place to find a difference between the two is in the price.
